NILDA RODRIQUEZ WORKSHOP 26/27/28 JULY 2014

We are exceptionally fortunate to have Nilda Rodriquez agree to come to Yorkshire Decorative Painters Club to teach a 3 day workshop for us.  As you can see from the pictures, 2 acrylic paintings and one coloured pencil designs.  Saturday night we will be enjoying a meal together and hope everyone will come to Wortley Hall for this.  We have Bolsterstone Village Hall booked for the workshop and as always the fee will include tea/coffee morning and afternoon plus lunch which is always substantial.  Please contact Jackie for further details.  Do hope to see plenty of ladies joining us.

PEGGY HARRIS SEMINAR 19th, 20th and 21st October 2013

This seminar will take place over 3 days and cost £165 which includes all paints, patterns and lunches/tea & coffee.  A deposit of £30 is due when booking (this is non-refundable unless we can fill your space).  Cheques made payable to "Yorkshire Decorative Painters".  First day is the squirrel, second day is the Bunny catching Fireflies and the third day is the natural tray which is an exclusively designed piece for our workshop so you will be the first to paint this.  Our venue will be Bolsterstone Village Hall and the days will run from 9am to 4pm.

We are proud and pleased to announce that Brenda Stewart is coming to paint a workshop with us next 15th, 16th and 17th June 2013.  These are the 2 projects we will be painting: Lemons & Blueberrys is a 2 day project and the Poinsettia is a one day project minus the pattern on the left hand side.  The workshop will be £165 and a deposit of just £30 will secure your place.

Sorry if anybody has struggled to get organised to go to Monday meeting for the AGM but it was felt that due to weather conditions it would be better to postphone till possibly 27th February when hopefully the conditions would be better for travelling. Will confirm this date nearer the time.

PAINTING DANDELIONS WITH DAPHNEY

On Monday 30th January 2012 we decided that we wanted Daphney to show us how she painted the Ann Blockley watercolour Dandelions she had taught Debbie to paint they were so good. As you can see she did a brilliant job and we all came away with different but very satisfying dandelions. Thank you Daphney and Debbie (who was assisting her).

Ronnie Bringle's Workshop 23 to 25 Oct 2011

Well what a fabulous workshop we enjoyed with Ronnie. She was a delight to work with and such a fun personality. The whole 3 days was informative, well structured and an all round worthwhile experience. So many new techniques and tips were taught and shared. The catering was stupendous, thank you ladies for all your hard work and input and to our Beryl who supplied us throughout with tea, coffees and meals. Nobody felt hungry in fact a few of us were easing our waistbands by the end!! I took a few photos of us and hopefully you can see them here!

We are delighted to announce the above workshop. We have been trying for quite a while to get Ronnie to come over from the States to do a workshop with our gropup. For those who are not familiar with her work she has written a short biography in the Spring newsletter. Although Ronnie has travelled extensively teaching decorative painting it is her first visit to the UK so it will be a unique opportunity to paint with her at a very reasonable cost.

The rooster on a fence post is a one day project and Past Times takes 2 days. This has been advised as a piece for us to learn most of her techniques.

The 3 day workshop will cost £165.00 which includes lunch, tea/coffee with cakes/biscuits morning and afternoon. A non refundable deposit of £50 will secure your place.

SATURDAY 2ND AND SUNDAY 3RD OCTOBER 2010

Helene is an accomplished French/Canadian artist/teacher who teaches in Canada and has had her work published in the American SDP Decorative Painter. She is currently living in Belgium and has kindly agreed to run a seminar for us.

The pieces that we have chosen to paint are from the Tolehaven.com website. The project for the first day is Perfect Pansies, designed by Gail Anderson and the project for the second day is Chinese Lanterns, designed by Leila Lundberg.

Both projects can be painted on wood. Details of any preparation required and the sizes will be sent out before the seminar. The seminar will be held in Smithy Moor Community Centre, Stocksbridge S36 1AY. 9am-4pm. Tea/coffee will be provided. £80 for the 2 days.

Busy Bee's

11 January 2010 - an “in house” workshop everyone painting a beehive plaque together as a group.

This was a fun “communal” workshop which only took a morning to paint, we just sat round in our usual “u” shape chatting and checking with each other what and how to do each stage of this cute little project. It was fun to paint and talk through each stage and how we were going to do it, interspersed with what we all got for Christmas and how the festivities went.
